A good friend of mine died yesterday. He was a great Air Force leader and officer. He will be missed…

The following is a message I posted on Barry’s FB page:

My friend,
It’s been hard to come up with words to express how thankful I am to have met you. Last night Grace saw the stars and asked if they were fireflies, as I was driving and thinking of you. Julie told her that stars are further away in the sky. Today I know you are also up there in the skies smiling before our Lord. Thank you for your friendship and inspiring faith during OTS. Thank you for being such a great leader to all of us. The Air Force has lost a great officer, but God has received a beloved son. I will miss meeting up next month as planned. Going to the chapel and then Subway every Sunday will not be the same without you. You have touched many my friend. I promise I will tell of you as I mentor other younger troops. You are loved my friend…Joe
